With the generous support and in partnership with other organizations, the Foundation has been able to provide scholarships and tuition assistance to support staff recruiting and retention. In addition, these gifts have provided the resources to make improvements to the Hillcrest building itself, always with the goal of achieving the best quality of life for our residents. A description of some of those improvements is listed below.
The Hillcrest Nursing Home Foundation is a 501(c)(3) and your donation is tax-deductible as allowed by law.
In partnership with other organizations, the Hillcrest Foundation Board has contributed approximately $200,000.00 to improvements for Hillcrest Nursing Home over the last two years. These projects included landscaping and underground sprinklers, remodeling of the staff break room, and new dining room chairs. Other recent projects include a new roof as well as new smart TVs for resident rooms and social areas.
These are examples of ways in which the contributions from our community, and throughout our southwest region, enable us to insure that the needed services provided by Hillcrest Nursing Home are available – for this generation and those to come.
Hillcrest Nursing Home Foundation board members have made staff education their top priority. Our Tuition Assistance Program is supported by the Foundation in order to recruit and retain well-educated and dedicated employees. The funds are only available because of the generous contributions from a variety of resources including our employees, fundraisers, as well as, community members.
Scholarships are one form of financial aid available to students and others in the nursing profession wanting to advance their education and careers. The Diane Towery Scholarship was founded through memorials from the Towery family, in honor of their wife and mother who had been a long-time employee of Hillcrest Nursing Home. This $500 scholarship is matched by the Foundation, resulting in a scholarship of $1000. Applications are accepted from students in the ESU 15 region.
Tuition Assistance
is another form of financial aid available through donations to the Hillcrest Nursing Home Foundation. Professional development of our staff is important to us. The Tuition Assistance Program is offered to those employed with the Hillcrest Nursing Home who want to advance their knowledge and skills.
In the last year, approximately $8,000.00 in tuition assistance was provided to medical and administrative staff. The Foundation has also been promoting this program to area schools, and a major goal this coming year is to expand outreach efforts and increase awareness and interest in this opportunity.
We invite you to obtain an application from the Hillcrest Foundation office and return the completed form to Hillcrest Nursing Home Foundation, 309 West 7th Street, P.O. Box 1087, McCook, NE 69001.
